2000 Merit Award: Roof Conversion
Project Overview
The existing Federation home was in original condition, with an old, run-down weatherboard addition at the rear of the house. This addition was demolished and replaced with a contemporary kitchen, laundry and bathroom, plus a second storey was added to maximise the view. The front of the house preserved the original features. The renovation also included a wet-edge pool, accessible from the main bathroom.
Client Testimonial
“P&N O’Carroll Design & Construction renovated our Manly home in 1999. The project involved demolition, excavation, construction and fit-out. The finished product, including full second storey addition, major reconstruction and pool, is stunning.
“Particular attention was paid to liaising with the Council, involving the remodelling of the house façade to match the streetscape and maximise the view.
“Peter is very easy to deal with, is completely honest and thoroughly reliable. The quality of workmanship is exacting. Follow-up inspection was performed automatically by Peter and his staff, and minor fine-tuning was performed without question.
“We have no hesitation in recommending Peter and his team for any design and construction work.”
